The material of the molded parts determines the quality and life of the injection mold and also determines the appearance and internal quality of the injection molded product. Therefore, the selection of the material of the molded parts must be based on the type of plastic to be molded, the shape of the product, the dimensional accuracy, and the appearance of the product. Quality and use requirements, production batch size, etc. to choose from.
For molds that require high appearance quality, long life, and mass production, the cavity needs to choose high-grade imported steel with high mirror polishing performance, such as 718/NAK8, etc.; the core can choose medium and low-grade imported steel, such as 618/738, etc.
The appearance quality requirements are general, and the cavity of the long-life and mass-produced mold needs to choose low-grade imported P20 steel; the core can choose low-grade imported P20 steel.
If there is no appearance quality requirement, for medium and large molds, low-grade imported P20 or P20+NI steel can be used for the cavity; imported or domestic high-quality carbon steel can be used for the core.
Small mold cavities can choose low-grade imported P20 or domestic P20, and the core can choose domestic plastic mold steel.
